A single card drawn at random is not a novelty use of tarot. It is the oldest and simplest way the deck is read, needing no spread, no reversal rules and nothing memorised in advance. All seventy-eight cards are here, the twenty-two Major Arcana and the four suits of fourteen that make up the Minor, because a partial deck changes the odds and therefore changes the reading. Anyone learning the deck should draw one each morning and look it up properly. Seventy-eight mornings later you will know them, which is faster than working through any book.
