A scavenger hunt is only as good as its list, and homemade ones usually swing between impossible and insulting. Draw ten of these, write them on a card, and you have an hour outdoors for children who were adamant they did not want to go outdoors. Forty items findable in a park, a garden or an ordinary street, none requiring entry to anywhere private. Photograph rather than collect for most of them, which keeps it kind to the hedgerows and lets several teams hunt the same patch.
